This weekend in Tofino celebrating Melissa+Steve was such a blast. I met Melissa+Steve for the first time on the morning of their wedding and you would never be able to tell! From the constant laughter and tears (on both ends), to the incredibly sweet and wholehearted moments throughout their day. These two are such an incredible couple and were so intentional about soaking up every part of their day. They were especially excited to get married regardless of what it looked like (weather, c*vid, restrictions, oh-my!).
Melissa+Steve had the most breathtaking beach wedding in Tofino. They got married on the Mackenzie Beach cove, just down the beach from Crystal Cove Cabins. Tofino is especially near and dear to their hearts because it’s where their story first started. It began with a set up by Melissa’s cousin and mutual friends and flourished into undeniable love and they were engaged in less than a year.
You can tell by the moments captured of this beautiful day, just how undeniable their love really is.
Congratulations Melissa+Steve! It was such an honour celebrating with you both, and I cannot wait to adventure with you again in the future!

A personal review from the newlyweds…
The location:
We absolutely love Tofino for it’s natural beauty and amazing backdrop for a wedding. So many of our guests had never been to Tofino before so it was awesome to see everyone fall in love with the area for all the reasons we first did. -Steve
Favourite memory of the day:
One of my favourite parts of the day was our first look and taking our photos before the ceremony. It was a part of the day that felt like time stood still and was just fun and intimate moments shared with Steve and I. I have so many favourite moments (and you captured them all). Champagne toasts with friends and family, the harbour sunset, Fynn being part of our ceremony, moments getting ready with my mom and sister and overall the love of the day in a location that is so special to Steve and I-Melissa
Advice for future couples planning their wedding in Tofino or at Crystal Cove:
My advice to anyone planning in Tofino would be to trust Sheila and Rare Earth Weddings with your day. She made us feel at ease for every up and down of a COVID time wedding. Her connections and knowledge of the town made every detail beyond our expectations. And I would recommend crystal cove in a second. The location for the ceremony and the cabins were perfect. The location made our vision of a whole weekend event with our family and friends possible. Spent the time around the wedding having a welcome bbq, drinks on the beach, paddle boarding and was completely dog and kid friendly-Melissa
We loved staying at Crystal Cove with all of the cabins and being right on the beach. It’s a perfect location for having our whole group stay at one location and having the wedding right there on the beach, what a beautiful location!! My first piece of advice for future couples looking to get married in Tofino would be to tell everyone to stay extra days to be able to enjoy all the things Tofino has to offer. From the delicious food and drinks to the many amazing tours and activities, there’s just never enough time to do it all :) -Steve
