These photos were taken two days after Gary+Rachel decided on forever; a newlyweds shoot if you will. A few hours before, they were hanging out at the beach. With their lime margaritas in hand and sand between their toes… already on their ”honeymoon” and laughing and celebrating with their friends and family.
Before Gary+Rachel headed off to dinner, we walked down to grab a couple shots of them on the beach. Barefoot. Hand in hand. Waves crashing against our feet.
I love it.
I love it because it is low key. It is real. It is the RAW moments; the experiences they are now having as husband+wife. Just enjoying each other. Enjoying the still moments. Enjoying the RAW beauty. Enjoying each other.
The thing is, we were probably there for twenty minutes max. Twenty minutes. I headed back to the room and washed the sand and salt off my legs before Jaime and I headed to dinner.
Twenty minutes. That twenty minutes, twenty years down the road they will share with their kids or look back on their anniversary with their wedding photos.
I am thankful to have a job that I love. But most of all, I am thankful for these clients friends who welcomed me in to document those RAW moments. Friends who took twenty minutes out of their honeymoon. Friends who trusted me to document those moments; to freeze those twenty minutes just a couple days in as husband+wife.
Gary+Rachel, thank you for allowing me to document the beginning of your journey as husband+wife. It was such an honour. Enjoy!
