Last year at United conference I crammed my schedule full of shoots with full intent to learn new things, build my portfolio, and shoot at some new+different locations. After a busy week and multiple full memory cards, I went to one I knew I would love: the sunset yacht shoot. Little did I know it would ignite a sense of wonder and curiosity; the inspiration from combining my two favorite things — the beach and photography.

This year, I decided to keep my time open for the unexpected, but I knew this one was a must.  Although we didn’t have a gorgeous California sunset, we sailed on the open ocean and watched the city lights appear from the middle of the sea. It was fantastic.
