We headed out to Crescent Beach eating sushi on the way. I joked with Erik telling him we needed food because we didn’t want to get hangry after three hours of taking photos. ;) Chloe smiled as we both witnessed the complete horror on his face. Three hours for engagement photos??? She knew I was teasing. We laughed. Chatting about wedding plans, and his recent hiking adventures, I drove with my dear friend and her soon to be hubby.
It hit me a few weeks ago walking in to David’s Bridal. Seeing Chloe and her mom from across the room looking at wedding dresses. For her. It hit me again culling through their photos at 12am after getting home from a little post engagement session wine+chocolate. Chloe is getting married.
Clicking that right arrow and seeing photo after photo… That smile. That glow. That man holding the girl I sang “toe-knee chestnut” with in kindergarten. The girl I went to school with from kindergarten to grade 12 with, but became really close in highschool+shortly after. The friend I walked for blocks with over coffee after we broke up with our (ex) boyfriends meere days apart. The man Chloe texted me about (who went to middle school with us as well) as I sat on the couch in my basement suite. Seeing one of my best friends so happy and in love is such a beautiful thing.
Also, the best part about documenting your friend’s engagement session?? Getting to join in on the mani/pedis before hand to get that ring hand camera ready. ;)
Erik, we may have been there a bit longer than 5 minutes, but thanks for being such a great sport! You guys rocked it. I could not be more excited to stand beside you both as you become husband+wife in about 5 months! Chloe, I love you. I am so happy for you.
