I have a confession. There is something I have been contemplating whether or not I should post on here. My goal is for this to be a place where you not only get to see my work as a photographer, but get to know the girl behind the camera as well. Now what is too deep and personal?? As I was thinking about this, I realized how much this has affected my life, the lives of people I love very much, and the lives of hundreds of people ALL OVER THE WORLD. Anyways, I decided to GO FOR IT. I have caught myself so many times since at a wedding looking around at the Bride and Groom’s wedding party. Their closest friends. Their grandparents. Their family. And each and every guest handpicked to share one of the most important days of their lives with them. I know personally, it is too easy to get caught up in the busyness and routine of our everyday lives. I forget to slow down and be thankful. To slow down and enjoy the things that are too easily taken for granted or brushed aside because we think they will always be there. On April 4th that all changed.
Now before I go into more detail, I just wanted to emphasize how I see photography as a privlige and a HUGE responsibility. It is more than a job or a hobby to me. It is capturing you. Your personality. Your relationships. Your family. Your loved ones. But most of all- something no amount of time, technology, money or fame can buy. Real moments. Real memories. Real emotions. Real relationships. Life.
This story has been told now worldwide, and although words cannot possible explain the 74+ days and still recovering, it is worth sharing. Part two hitting the blog soon: the miracle of my dear friend– Jessica Funk.
