In June I wrote a post about all the crazy, silly, simple, fun things I wanted to do this summer. As summer unfortunately comes to an end and all the backpacks and school supplies get hauled out, I thought I would re post that list. I love summer. I love the smell of the ocean at the beach. I love ice cream on a hot summer’s day, late summer nights, summer photo shoots :), and just kicking back and enjoying the warm summer breeze with a good glass of iced tea nearby. ;)
“Summer’s filled with breaking the rules, standing apart, ignoring your head, and following your heart.” -Unknown
Now, I am not a big rule breaker, but I think this quote has a point. What is it about summer that makes living in the moment seem so easy? Where your every worry disappears and possibilities seem endless. More often than not, summer for me contains a lot of crazy dreams and things I should do in September from random travelling adventures to 12 year school degrees. ;) Summer is like a bittersweet goodbye; it means change. It marks the end but also the beginning of a new year. There is something about summer that just feels different. There is a certain atmosphere or mood that just seems so much lighter, more carefree. Life is easy and following your heart seems like the only option.
In exactly a week, many of you will be heading back to school. Some of you may be moving away, or coming home. Whatever September may bring…
“Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, stumble and fall because most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for. Maybe you’ll get more than you could have ever imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination.”
