:: Never lose your sense of wonder. ::
On Saturday I had a three hour layover in Portland on my way to Santa Barbara, California. After a mandatory stop at Starbucks from a 4am morning (EGTL for the win! ;)), I naturally explored the airport a bit and then found a table by the window looking out at the tarmac.
On that crisp, foggy fall morning, I watched. I watched as the men loaded the bags from the cart onto the plane belt, going about their normal routine. I glanced over at the people lined up. Bags in hand, ready and anxious to board the plane and head off on their next adventure. To where? I have no idea. Visiting family? Travelling for work? Simply exploring? Or maybe running off to start fresh in a new place.
I love travelling because of the curiosity it brings for the people, the culture, the stories around us. Life. Curiosity from seeing the world with open eyes. I think that is why I feel so inspired while travelling. Not necessarily because of where I am going, but because I am prepared for the unexpected. My phone is out of my hands and mind focussed on the world around me. Not my to do list. Just here, in this moment. Right now. Ready with eyes wide open for the next adventure or new experiences ahead. Open heart, open mind.
This is my favorite office.
