I sat on the arm rest of the couch in the living room. With my mom sitting beside, and dad standing next to me with his arm in a sling… With misty eyes, I shook my head and laughed.
I laughed and said ”Six words. What six words sum up everything that has been happening this past month?”
I cannot believe this is happening.
They laughed. We laughed. Because it is true. Every part of it. In a moment (or few weeks) filled with sadness, anger, grief and hurt and a last minute surgery, we laughed.
Processing the past month in our lives has been challenging.
So, with finishing my last 2014 wedding last weekend, I booked a flight. Three days ago.
Yep! That’s right… I am currently sitting in Phoenix airport. Waiting for my connecting flight to Santa Barbara– to beautiful beaches, meeting my friends sweet new baby girl, and spending time with a great community.
This season I am learning there are some things you definitely don’t plan for. I am learning that living life doesn’t have to mean you are running. And booking that unexpected flight? Well, it might just be the smartest thing.
They say taking time to live life only inspires your work. I believe that. So just go.
